These are some things from WW2. My great-great-granddad fought in the war and earned these medals for fighting in Italy and France. One of these is for defending our country and the other two are or fighting in general.
My great-great-granddad was also in the Royal Engineers and got a badge for it.
The money is from the time of WW2. There were shillings, pennies, half pennies, half crowns and one pound notes.
The poster was to persuade you to grow your own fruit and vegetables in your garden.
Little planes were sold to raise money for the war and were made out of a single penny to be worn as a badge.
In the war you would have to carry round an identity card wherever you went so people can identify you when you go out or go shopping.
Carrying on with the subject of shopping, you would also have to take your ration book with you with your tokens inside. You would also have a petrol ration book when you went to buy petrol.
Rhianna.
