British Cycling Schools' Festival

Fosse Way take the awards at Lincoln Schools'Cycling Competition

Fosse Way cleaned up at the Lincoln Schools' Cycling Festival today. Competing against teams from Washingborough and South Hykeham, Tamara got the day off to a great start with a win in the skills competition.

This involved cycling over a see-saw, under a pole and around obstacles.

The afternoon was all about speed and stamina. First up was the girls' individual competition. Incredibly in the heats, Fosse Way managed to fill 5 of the 9 places up for grabs in the final. Even more amazingly, they took 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th places in the final - winning all the medals on offer. Well done to Lois, Georgette, Isabel and Isabelle.

Next were the boys' individual races. Not to be outdone, the boys also filled the majority of places available in the final, and also managed to win all the medals on offer, finishing 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Congratulations to Leighton, Elliot and Louis.

Finally, it was the Girls and Boys Italian Team Pursuit Relay. Unsurprisingly, Fosse Way won both competitions. (Just don't tell the boys that the girls recorded the fastest time of the day!)

A big well done to all 16 children who took part for Fosse Way, and a big thank you to British Cycling for organizing the event and supporting cycling at our school this year. Their after school club takes place every Wednesday evening on the school field.
