The Lungs
Have you ever wondered how our lungs work? Well you're about to find out. In this text you will find out what the lungs are and what they do. Read on to find out.
The lungs are an organ in your body they breathe in oxygen and breathe out carbon dioxide. About 20 times a minute, we all do something and don't think we are doing it. In fact quite amazingly we do it about 20,000 times a day! Have you worked what you do?
BREATHE
You will notice that when you inhale your lungs will fill with air and your diaphragm will stretch to allow for your lungs to increase in size. When you exhale your diaphragm with tighten, your ribs will move downwards and inwards as your lungs shrink in size.
Your lungs have blood vessels called capillaries which oxygenates your blood so then it can be passed to any organs or muscles. Without capillaries your body wouldn't work properly.
So now you know how your lungs work and what they do. We hope you found out something new.
